Launch of Project “Creating Safe Communities for Children”

-   Launch of the National Guideline on the Management of Victims of Child Abuse and Neglect.
-   Launch of posters on prevention of child abuse and neglect.

The event was held on 04th December 2013, at BMICH, Colombo, by the Honourable Minister of Health, Maithripala Sirisena.
As described earlier this project has two main objectives:

  • prevention of child abuse and neglect
  • the better management of victims

The intention of the guideline is to provide more systematic, well integrated and well directed management and follow up plan for the victims of child abuse and neglect in Sri Lanka and ultimately to minimise the short term and long term physical, psychological and social adverse effects of child abuse and neglect.

This was succeed followed by the several meeting and discussions among the professional bodies and the ministries who are involved in management of victims.
It is mainly covered the better management of the victims.
